Service Guide
Sunday Service
We gather every Sunday at 10:30 in a venue near Komazawa-Daigaku Station.
During the first part of the service, we sing children’s songs and hear a Bible talk tailored for children.
After this, we sing a few more songs, pray and listen to a talk from the Bible. This is followed by discussion time, where we share what we have learned from the passage and ask any questions we might have.
We often spend the afternoon together in fellowship.
Kids’ Ministry
What children need more than anything, is to know Jesus. That’s why we dedicate a segment of our Sunday Service each week to learning about the gospel of Jesus with our children.
We also believe in the importance of learning about Jesus in our homes, so we provide support and guidance for parents who would like to do more of this.
Bible Studies
We encourage all our members to join our mid-week Bible study group. The goal of these groups is not to simply hear what someone else tells us the Bible is saying, but to learn to read the Bible for ourselves.
We pray that these groups will be a great opportunity for you to take a closer look at the Bible for yourself each week, hear God speak through His Word, and be changed as you apply it to your life.
Support Groups
Support for Women
On Thursday mornings, we hold a ‘Girls by the River’ group meeting for ladies to read the Bible together and pray for one another.
One-to-one
Reading the Bible and praying for one another in a one-to-one setting is how we actively do life with one another here at Christchurch Riverside.
Short trip
We go on two short trips each year. One in Spring, and the other in Autumn. During these trips, we hold Bible studies and talks for both adults and children and enjoy fun activities like barbeques and board games.
